RoboChrist

This painting came about because we love RoboCop and the story of death, resurrection and transformation shown in the original film paralleling that of Jesus Christ. Also, we find it interesting that we can have such a strong emotional connection to fictional characters that they become personal saints of sorts to us. We go back to them when we feel sad or alone and become comforted in their presence.

Sometimes they act like replacement religious figures to us and we pray for them to come back to us in the form of a reboot or a new video game or cartoon in what seems to be an endless cycle of death, rebirth and diminishing returns.
