TIM

This painting came about because we love comic books and the iconic design of the Iron Man mask and wanted to do something with it; we thought it would look cool with big puffy lips.

First we painted the mask in the classic red and yellow colour scheme and added the lips, but something was missing. Then we though of a lightning bolt across the mask, and of course it resulted in a mash up of Iron Man and Ziggy Stardust, which we liked. The original colour scheme wasn't doing it for us, so we decided to shift towards something not normally used for Iron Man designs.

We affectionately refer to this painting as TIM, which stands for "The Infallible Man". We thought that was a fitting name for a mash-up of Iron Man and Ziggy Stardust.
